About Jonelle Massey

Jonelle Massey

Psychotherapist, Consultant, Speaker, and Author.

Jonelle Massey, founder and CEO of Agility Counseling Group (ACG) leads mental health counseling services for student & professional athletes, parents, coaches and teams at the local, regional and national level. Jonelle and her team expands their licensed mental health expertise to consulting, coaching and training leaders, corporations, and organizations through improving systems and team culture within a comprehensive framework of emotional agility, psychological safety and empathy.

In response to the deterioration of meaningful connections & positive socialization in sports, the decrease of joy and resilience on the field and courts, and the exponential increase of anxiety, toxic stress, and suicide rates, Jonelle is turning her attention towards these concerns and addressing the person before their performance!

Jonelle has over 20 years of experience as an educator and nationally certified licensed mental health therapist, having received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jonelle’s diverse service in mental health and education as a school counselor and licensed psychotherapist includes both public and private, primary and secondary educational settings, as well as psychiatric hospital care and private practice.

As a former Division I athletic scholarship recipient with Xavier University’s women’s basketball program, Jonelle shares her passion for teaching effective teamwork, work ethic, motivation and EMOTIONAL AGILITY through an empathetic framework. Married to a Division I college basketball coach for seventeen years Jonelle understands the intimate impact mental health wellness has on a coach-player relationship.

Her strength in leadership is also evident in her professional development lectures and trainings as an executive leadership coach. Jonelle has several years of athletic coaching experience at the AAU youth, High School and Junior College level that influences her natural ability as a keynote speaker. She volunteers as a small business mentor, and board member for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.
